As you probably know, Newcomers is running an exciting new contest this year, and the time to buy your ticket is now! Following are details, and you can purchase your ticket by simply sending in this form along with your check.  Tickets are also available at The Bird in Hand, Coffee Haven, and The Grapevine.  Do not forget to mention it to friends and neighbors who might be interested, as well!

The winner of Newcomers Makes it New will receive a complete makeover of the room of their choice. After an initial design consultation with interior designer Meredith Mahoney, the winner will be presented with a personalized design, based on the individual style of the homeowners. The plan may include new paint colors (professionally painted by Jack O’Toole Painting), custom window treatments by Colleen Inman of Made by Hand, custom woodworking by Dave Randlett of DYR Home Renovations, fresh furniture placement, and decorative accents.

The winners will agree to hand over their space to Newcomers volunteers for 2-3 days for the makeover to occur….no peeking allowed! During this time, the designer, other volunteers and Holliston business people will transform the space into an exciting, brand new room. Homeowners will be expected to remove any clutter from the room prior to the design team’s arrival, but other than that, they will not lift a finger. When the design team is finished, the homeowners will be treated to an exciting reveal, where they can see the transformed room in a totally completed state. They will then be free to enjoy their new room, beautifully made over by the Holliston Newcomers Club.

Proceeds from your donation will go to the Holliston Newcomers Club Grant Fund, which support local projects that benefit the town of Holliston.  Past projects include museum passes at the library, training for volunteer police officers, the Downtown Marigold Project, and the Holliston Council for the Arts Summer Concert Series.  The Holliston Newcomers Club is a nonprofit organization that coordinates charitable, civic, educational and recreational events and activities in the town of Holliston, Massachusetts. Our goal is to encourage association among community members and to foster community spirit. Our membership is open to both residents and non-residents of Holliston, and you need not be new to the area to join.

Winner will be drawn at the Holliston Newcomers Club Grant Celebration Night, April 7, 2010.  Winner will be notified by telephone, and need not be present to win.  Prize will be valued at $1000.  Winner must be a Holliston resident.  HNC reserves the right to return all donations if a minimum fund raising amount is not reached.  The decisions of HNC are final.
